A lot of people was disappointed both by the studio (Mana studio made Cowboy Bebop of bad reputation), by the universe period/era choice (a lot of people despise Arise or would prefer some period agnostic game), […]

The X-Men Starter is even available on Amazon Canada. Amazon Canada has all the Asmodee stuff, and they usually offer 3 months zero interest.
Canadian physical stores (there’s two or three that I normally use) that have online presences though have the better deals, with at least 15-25% off retail. And loads of stock.
The Amazon price is $132 C…[Read more]

@pagan8th both Shatterpoint and MCP have had serious availability issues over here too.
Heck, I probably would have bought the Xmen starter if I had found it anywhere.
However, over here it’s pretty much “if it ain’t GW then we ain’t got it”
At least I can buy stuff from companies in the UK without too many issues (#MAWM 😉 )

I agree with most of the other comments here. They kind of blew it on how they made the announcement, but the news itself is fine. Although everyone is going to have a favorite character that never made it into […]

I double checked I had done pledge manager for Discworld.
Maybe the ones that not filled it in only pledged $1 at the time. Or maybe they live in a country where they have to pay 10% more on every import.
Sadly I have found it impossible to find MCP X-Men Starter set anywhere in the UK. My wallet is happy. I am disappointed.

They were not forced by FFG. FFG had no hands in that. It was Asmodee, the monolithic company that owns FFG, AMG and so much more.

I always got the impression that AMG were forced by FFG to take on and make Star Wars games when they didn’t really want to, and they just wanted to focus on MCP instead. Sidelining Shatterpoint makes perfect sense to me.

Project Gutenberg for the win as the young folk would say:
https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/169I guess this predates copyright laws by a sufficient margin that even Disney’s insane extension that allows exploitation past authors’ death means it is in the public domain.

yeah, some of the character choices are odd indeed.
But then the overall release schedule has been a mixed bag for all of these games.
There was no pattern that made sense. It switches from prequels to cartoon series to original trilogy at random points.
Some sets are lacking in matching squads from the other side.
And some characters get…[Read more] -

I bet there’s a lot of people that hit “I’m in” at the start of the campaign and then forget to do anything.
I think it’s because the switch from ‘campaign’ to ‘backerkit’ mode is invisible with GameFound campaigns. You already pick what you want during the campaign.
With Kickstarter there usually is a separate system where you finalise the…[Read more]

@grantinvanman that is at best an evolution of technical materials used.
It’s not like they’re changing how many players are on a field, where the goals are and how big the field is …
and more importantly : they don’t abandon the entire thing after a few years.
In general sports tend to be pretty stable in terms of what they are, what…[Read more]
