Happy Sunday Backstagers, CoGs, and OTTers.
I always collect both sides for games so I can play a game with anyone. Fallout Factions has a Boston box set out in the hew year. Wasteland warfare can be played anyway you want but is better for narrative scenarios. All the nukaworld stuff can be used in it. I think a new edition is due next year because it is hard for new comers to get into.
You have an option in Fallout wasteland warfare with a bit of a progression system.
It has been some years since I played it. Every player has a settlement that it can build out. Your starting force is a bit limited and as your town grows you will get more options to take. You have personnel quests that will give you extras. But you don’t have any effect on an other players town, you are developing it independently.
Happy Sunday, gang! I’m already singing the Fallout games soundtrack songs on repeat. One of my favourite settings, I love the TV show as well. Minis? Yes please.
Im finding as I get older my friends, friends who I have known long long years, are getting into table top games. Since covid we ger together more. It started with traditional board games, then more story led games to card driven games and now im actually pleasently suprised they want to give blood bowl a spin. Im greatful for my friends company and look forward to beating them into the turf but if I could introduce them to exploding dice then im sure the dystopia age will be expanding in my area soon. Spread the joy of gaming 👍
I forgot to say a big thank you to the Cogger and his 10mm dwarf project. Been following with interest as the set appeals to me also. Lovely work on a well laid out project its been really helpful thank you 👍
Happy Sunday all.
@avernos I have been following the Unit9 patreon pretty much since day 1 and have a huge library of STLs. If you want some Cyberpunk miniatures 3D printing, drop me a direct message and I can sort that out for you. You can find them in MyMiniFactory and I think I have almost everything on there. I can’t really print vehicles at the moment as my 3D printer is quite small. I can do bikes and maybe small buggies.
That’s not a happy Sunday! I feel personally attack by that title! Just because I own the game, have painted all the content of said box and never played a game I shouldn’t be shamed! XD Now on to the video
01:00 played with the COC on Halloween
07:40 *takes notes* Brown lemonade it is for the next stream then.
31:00 “sludge is turnip adjacent” – sounds like a meal prep gone wrong. XD
35:00 @brennon full on rage mode.
37:30 Jeeeebus XD Calm down
43:00 “May you suffer an itch you’re unable to scratch”, “May your microwave dinners be cold in the middle”. We need more of these “harmless” curses XD
47:15 Steeeeel boys. @johnlyons is a good boy.
50:00 Tau? What is Tau precious?
1:00:00 Is he taking pictures on his dashboard in the car? oO
1:05:00 Ad break! 8)
Now what to do. *avoids looking at the P.o.O*
I picked up the pdf for sludge, getting it printed into a spiral bound book. I think my Black Iron Sigil stuff will be perfect for this game too.
exit 23 games are the UK stockists for Relic Blade but find it difficult to keep in stock, I think.
And, if you have any kind of fantasy army, try Oathmark. Brilliant game.
Great GBs this week – lovely to see some Historicals and the 10mm Dwarves are ace. I always get two starting forces for any new game. If it plays well then others in my group will join in and if it doesn’t then I don’t want to play it either 😀
Hi COGz
I’m shocked their’s army’s out that Gerry doesn’t have 😱
Just the army for Justin to play 🤔👍
Ben will be roming everywhere soon 👍
Fantastic show guy’s
@avernos Crooked Dice has some great cyberpunk models.
None of my other gaming buddies play miniatures games at all, but I’m lucky in that my wife is an experienced gamer and generally up for whatever, although there are definitely some games she likes more than others.
I feel bad for the “my friends only play GW” people — you see it a lot in RPG forums too, “I want to play [insert game here] but my group will only play D&D 5e.” Really? They won’t try something new one time? Send them to Gerry to get punched in the face…
for wargames there’s GW
for rpg’s there’s D&D …
some folk just can’t even think of attempting something that isn’t the ‘official’ and the ‘popular’ variant.
I can understand not getting into the small indie games that are next to impossible to buy for, but everything else …
It might be worth trying to convince someone to play your game if they can use the miniatures they already own. Like telling 40k players to use their existing minis to play, for example, Trench Crusade or One Page Rules.
So, the Fallout situation is a bit complicated. Wasteland Warfare is very granular and token, rule and special dice heavy. It’s also infinitely customizable. Its rulebook is being replaced with a 2nd edition sometime next year. There is a campaign system but it’s geared to building up the settlements and not characters.
Factions first rulebook is Nuka World. Its second rulebook is just called the “core” rulebook and a third rulebook is being released at the end of the year. Nuka World has a control campaign where you via for control over specific areas. The “core” rulebook is a reach campaign where it’s a bit more abstract. The game is mechanically the same but the post game story actions are just better in the “core” rulebook as is the catchup mechanic for gangs that have lower reputation. It also introduces more perks that the gangers can get. The next book, centered on Boston, has new rules for a control campaign.
Every faction available is playable in all three rulebooks. The issue is the Nuka World factions only appear (currently) in the Nuka World book. Then four more factions appear in the core rulebook and then the Boston book introduces even more factions. Then there are still more factions in separate PDFs.
Good news, every Factions model has stats in Wasteland Warfare but not every Wasteland Warfare model is present in Factions.
Current factions are Operators, Pack and Disciples in the Nuka World book. The “core” book has Raiders, Super Mutants, Survivors and Brotherhood of Steel. The Nuka World gangs use their Nuka World stats and weapons but use the Raiders goals. The “Boston” book will add Minutemen, the Institute and Railroad.
Then there is the upcoming “folio” books. This will have rules for both “control” and “reach” campaigns. These are additional factions, characters and companions.
The announced factions include revisions to the Pack, Disciples and Operators, plus adding Zetans, Automatrons (Robots), Children of Atom, Followers of the Winged One (Mothmen), Gunners and Trappers. Then there are the sub factions.
The Survivor sub factions are Diamond City Security, Ghouls ( the intelligent kind, not the feral ones), Atom Cats and Wasteland Caravans.
The Brotherhood of Steel subfactions are First Expeditionary Force, Lion’s Brotherhood, Brotherhood Outcasts and Brotherhood Recon Squad.
The Raiders subfactions are the Forged, the Hound Masters, the Vipers and the Khans.
The Supermutant subfactions are Appalachian, Capital Wasteland, Commonwealth and Black Mountain.
Whew!
2nd edition is next year? Why does my brain say it’s already out and about? oO Do I have some wires crossed?
I don’t have enough friends interested in the hobby so I’d be happy just finding a couple of people who just wanted to play GW stuff all the time. I’ve press ganged my son into playing games but I fear that’s only going to last for a few more years, at least until he finds beer. I guess I need to get out more and find an actual gaming group….
Thank you for the button. Much appreciated. Thanks to my mate Tim for hating painting Dark Age Last Romans.
happy sunday (on friday) – Wolsung amazing game, I have 4 teams and i still cant play it -, its look too complicated but its not. but because its so free and dom what you doo my friend cant play it bhecause his lack of imagination.
