Pre-Order Third Season Of Blood Bowl This Weekend
October 29, 2025 by brennon
Games Workshop will be taking pre-orders for a new season of Blood Bowl this weekend. A brand new Starter Set is on the way, alongside two new plastic teams who will be taking to the pitch in search of glory in your local Blood Bowl league.
Blood Bowl Third Season Edition // Games Workshop
The Third Season Edition set comes with two teams, The Brionne Barons and The Nehekhara Nightmares, alongside a full Blood Bowl pitch, accessories, rules and more that you'll need in order to play your first games.
You'll get the full 200-page Rulebook, the double-sided pitch and some dugouts, thirty-seven game tokens for tracking injuries and statuses, templates, dice and also handy cheat sheets which you can use to keep an eye on gameplay elements.
The Official Rulebook // Blood Bowl
It should be noted that the rules for the Third Season aren't a massive change from what you will have played before in the previous version. This is more of a refinement of the rules with tweaks that smooth out the gameplay experience. You'll also find a better organisation of the rules throughout the book, so it's easier to get to grips with the game.
You'll also find the newly designed tokens in the set, which have been made so that you can see what conditions are in play without having to ask your opponent constantly.
Game Tokens // Blood Bowl
Blood Bowl, in the past, was a game of moving miniatures in all sorts of different ways to denote when they have fallen over, been stunned and more. This makes it a lot easier to just leave your miniatures where they are and stick these tokens alongside them.
More importantly, there are also two new teams for you to choose from when diving into this new season of Blood Bowl!
The Brionne Barons
You might want to go down the valiant route with the "heroic" and "noble" members of The Brionne Barons.
The Brionne Barons // Blood Bowl
This team comes with a set of two Knight Catchers, two Knight Throwers, two Grail Blitzers and then six Bretonnian Squire Linemen. This gives you a solid team of twelve miniatures. The Knights have all the fun, whilst the Squires simply facilitate that and hold the defensive line.
The Nehekhara Nightmares
You could also throw your lot in with the big slabs of undead might that are The Nehekhara Nightmares.
The Nehekhara Nightmares // Blood Bowl
This set comes with two Tomb King Blitzers, two Tomb Kings Throwers, four Tomb Guardians and six Skeleton Linesmen. The Tomb Kings are just as brutal and terrifying as they always were but with a technical edge to them. The Tomb Guardians can do some serious damage but you need to weigh that against being actually able to score touchdowns.
It should be noted that both of these teams also come with double-sided Blood Bowl coins, Turn and Re-Roll Markers, plus four themed balls. You also get plenty of gubbins for personalising your team! Are you going to be trying out the new edition of Blood Bowl and perhaps one of these two teams?

Haven’t played BB in so long. Still have some teams to paint
Bought it years ago. Assembled several teams. Not painted most of them. Never played it.
One of those games that seemed like a good idea at the time, but none of my friends want to play it and the ful games take way too long to play. Easier to play the console version.
24 36 Hurt hurt hurt
Probably just get the teams and not the box, we already have four pitches, tons of outdated books and rules, magazines, dice, templates and soooo many BALLS.
DREADBALL FTW (if you can find a copy).
I always found BB to be sluggish and games took too long, DB is fast and frantic (it IS supposed to be a sports game after all). The new DB “All Stars” is supposed to be coming to kickstarter soon (although I’ve got a gut feeling it’s going to be a stripped down/rules lite experience). So my advice is grab a copy of DB today (1st or second edition), the real sticking point (besides the minis) is trying to obtain the cards needed to play the game (so try looking for those first), and the teams from the first and second seasons give the best games/leagues 🙂
The addition of a chess clock (used in many tournaments) speeds BB play significantly!
Getting back into BB after a 25-year hiatus, so this is perfect timing. I remember the Styrofoam pitch!
