Preview Battlescale’s New 6mm Scale Roman Wargaming Terrain
August 12, 2025 by brennon
Battlescale previewed some more of their 6mm scale wargaming terrain that they are soon going to be releasing for your Historical wargames. They are going to be heading back to the Ancient period with some excellent-looking Roman terrain.
6mm Roman Terrain // Battlescale
These previews showed off some great-looking Roman buildings in 6mm that wouldn't look out of place throughout the Roman Empire. You've got those classic, clean walls which are just begging for a coat of white alongside those perfect roofs which will be that nice, earthy orange.
You've got some nice buildings here for representing a Roman town or perhaps a more developed camp where the troops have dug in and created a bit more of a permanent outpost somewhere on the frontier.
More Battlescale Terrain
As well as the upcoming 6mm scale terrain for your Roman tabletops, Battlescale also produce loads of terrain in 3mm, 6mm, 10mm, 20mm and even 28mm scale that cover various periods. I thought I'd share some more of the Battlescale range that they've produced, including this Saxon Cottage from the Leven range.

If you're planning to dive into World War II in 6mm scale, then Battlescale has you covered on that front, too. You can get some lovely Normandy-style houses with which you could craft some very detailed villages, towns and cities for you to battle through.

I think some of my favourite terrain from their collection is actually their 10mm Mediterranean Terrain, which, as you can see here, has been used to provide a great backdrop for some Napoleonic wargaming on the Peninsula.

It is well worth diving deep into the rest of the Battlescale terrain collection to see if there's something worth picking up for your games. If you're planning to dive into much smaller-scale games around the 3mm, 6mm and 10mm mark, you've got quite the repository for you to explore.
Playing wargames at this smaller scale not only makes the task of painting your wargaming terrain easier but it also means that your battlefields will look distinctly grander. 28mm scale is great but you can build some very impressive displays and battlefields once you shrink things down.
Do you like the terrain offerings from Battlescale?
