New Soldiers, Hounds & Killers From Bloody Miniatures
July 28, 2025 by brennon
More previews popped up recently from Bloody Miniatures for their upcoming Jacobean England (Treason & Plot) range in 28mm. More soldiers, conspirators and some notable characters of the period will be part of this release.
The Bluff Soldiers // Bloody Miniatures
We start with the Bluff Soldiers, bodyguards like the Gentlemen Pensioners and the Yeomen of the Guard. These soldiers were part of the Monarch's personal security and would watch over both him and royal abodes, like his various houses and palaces. You might even find them guarding the likes of the Crown Jewels and the Royal Mint.
The set will come with a soldier with a gun, another with a sword in hand and then two with partisans, which come included with the set.
If you'd like to hunt down those reprobates that have been causing such chaos, then you might also want The Bloody Hounds.
The Bloody Hounds // Bloody Miniatures
This set comes with two soldiers or bodyguards who can be armed with cudgels or halberds, plus those faithful hounds who have caught the scent and are currently seeking out their foe. You could also have the huntsmen/bodyguards with open hands as if they are leading their dogs along.
Delving deeper into the range, we also have this set, The Killing Gentlemen.

Better keep that pipe away from the barrel, or the whole plot will go up in smoke. This set comes with miniatures for an assassin, a spy, a "careless" gunpowder plotter and a hot-headed young blade. Use these folks as the key elements of your scenarios, whatever they might be.
I sense that you could have a lot of fun with this series of miniatures. Buy yourself a good pub terrain piece and something to represent the back alleys of London. Slot these miniatures into the mix and see where the skullduggery takes you.
Last but not least, you will also be able to get the Titans of the Age.

The famous and the infamous! This set comes with miniatures for King James I of England and VI of Scotland, Sir Robert Cecil: Secretary of State, Lord Treasurer and England’s Spymaster-in-Chief. You also have the esteemed Francis Bacon, philosopher and later Lord Chancellor and Attorney-General of England. Capping things off, you have Henry Garnet, a much-hunted Jesuit and the organiser behind the Gunpowder Plot!
All of these miniatures will be available soon and should be fun for those seeking a road less trodden when it comes to wargaming. There is probably a good set of skirmish rules you could use for this somewhere, I'd reckon.
What are your thoughts?
