I have the urmost faith in you mate. I am sorry that I discovered this thread so late. Your work so far is fantastic for being painted so quickly. Stick with it matie, I believe in you. 🙂

(and way to make a bloke feel bad…..I was checking my hobby diary last weekend and had happily noted that I had completed 166 models for the calendar year ( a personal best by over 100) … then you come along and do this….sheesh )

Now remember, the dirty looking one is for brushes and the clear one is for drinking. I’ve mishandled a couple of mugs of tea before and made myself quite sad to toss them out forgetting which was which. Good show on your work

@beardragon14 Thanks for the compliments and encouragement! I know you can do it to! I believe in you!

@angelicdespot They are based from the Gondor dudes in the Shadow of Mordor video game(s). I actually almost have done to completion, not just basecoats1 🙂

Believe me I’ve been ther @horati0nosebl0wer

Have had to pause this with my son up, 12 hour shifts at work and all that jazz. Havent done new pics or clocked up all the ours yet. Did some work on the metals and skin of the Mordor Orcs last night but the light wasnt good and I got a crick in my neck. It will probably be Friday night I return to this, with all the pausing and unpausing.

Yeah, to reiterate this will continue Friday, just with custody, halloween, work, the opportunity to actually get it done, and responsibilities.

Ill be doing another ‘basecoat 100 minis in 24 hours’ after I do this one and take a break for a day or two. It will most likely be with Warhammer 40,000.

I’m thinking it would be best for an Ork WAAAGH next year if you did another 100 minis in one day

Okay, I got in the last few hours of this paused challenge tonight. 101 models, 24 hours. I did not get them all basecoated. Despite failing the main objective, it was a lot of fun and gave me so much motivation and enthusiasm. Here is a ‘now’ shot:

Most, if not all of these models were simply primed Chaos Black at the start and have had all this work done in the 24 hour period.

    Section 1: Mordor Orcs (26)

First up is my converted Orc Captain, whom I have dubbed ‘Crow Skull’; a tracker and fighter garbed in black wearing an oddly shaped skull helm.

    • This model is 90% finished. He needs:
    • Basing: sand and a wash with tufts added.
    • Shard: The shard protruding from his base will be painted a glowing kind of purple.
    • Skull: Possibly Needs to be touched up. Maybe it’s the increased focus of the photo, but it loos better in person and sucky in the picture.

Next up are various Mordor Orcs. While I did not basecoat them, the old ‘three colour minimum’ for a tournament was done. They were painted a dark brown, drybrushed a lighter brown and then washed. Half were washed in Soft Tone and half in Strong Tone. They were then drybrushed with the same lighter brown again.

Their weapon blades were basecoated, higlighted, washed and edge hilighted. Their skin got two thin coats as a basecoat and washed. Next will be a hilghlight. I have done various skin tones.

How I continue with them, I am not sure. While I know how I want bows, boots, skin, hair and fur to look, I have not decided on an overall colour scheme for the force.

I’m half tempted to buy a visual companion to the movies just to have as well as use as a reference. I am a collector and a hardcopy enthusiast so to me it is nicer to have that in front of me then say, a tablet with pictures I collected here and th

Section 2: The Goblin King (1)

This guy was a joy to paint. I loved the portrayal in the movie, the look, and overall style. The mini was fun to put together, is a nice big gaming piece and diorama in and of itself and is a very nice sculpt. Also, he was a joy to paint.

The shoulder and the bicep on the right arm look badly done in the photo, which is annoying me, but he looks fine in person. He will be getting his base done tomorrow after work ala Crow Skull above.

Section 3: Star Wars Legion Barricades (8)

As you can see, there is a trending pattern: nothing was basecoated as such to completion, it was either almost complete or nearly basecoated. These were fun and quick to do and really gave me a lift at the start of the project.
