The greatest human folly is to believe that the next step in evolution is in the heights of the sky when, in fact, it may be the darkest depths of the ocean. As one of the worlds leading scientists, you have been tasked to build the world's first underwater city. However, you are not alone, and competing men of intellect are fit to challenge your creativity. Can you build the greatest underwater city and become the architect alive?

The earth is overpopulated. The colonization of Mars is always four decades away. Only one avenue is open for human expansion: the world under the sea. Players compete to build the best underwater nation – an archipelago of undersea cities connected by a network of transportation tunnels. Kelp farms and desalination plants will provide your people with food and water. Laboratories will give you the knowledge you need to run everything more efficiently. Perhaps you will even be able to build symbiotic cities, fully integrated with the underwater ecosystem.

Underwater Cities is a resource management game based on card placement. Players must attempt to place cards of the same colour into slots around the board, ideally matching with the slot with their cards corresponding colour to gain actions such as resource collections, building, gaining initiative, activating special cards and card collection. By preforming actions and triggering individual advantages on special cards, players can increase their strategic options.

There are three eras which players must complete, comprising of four rounds in Era I and three rounds in Eras II & III. The players with the most victory points at the end of the game is awarded the title of the greatest underwater architect!

Underwater Cities also has great replayability and offers 2 sided-playing boards, a solo game option and a government contracts deck to ensure multiple variants and keep the game interesting.

Underwater Cities was originally released at Essen, receiving great reviews. There's no online retailer as of yet, but interested gamers can look at the English rulebook here and keep up to date with the publisher Delicious Games through their website.
