Do you love money and hate the earth? Well, it's time for you to shine like the slick pile of prehistoric ooze you are as you put on your best ten-gallon hat and Texan drawl in Pipeline.

The refinement of oil has long been part of the government-controlled energy sector. Amassed with an incredibly complex and inefficient system of refineries, the government has felt the severe pressures of worldwide demand and the ever-increasing global standards for refinement. Unable to keep up with demand, the government has only one option: privatizing the oil industry.

In Pipeline, you are an up-and-coming oil tycoon, seeking to build a much more efficient pipeline than your competitors.

Hire experts to streamline your process, and manage the purchase and sale of your refined oil in the markets, hopefully gathering enough wealth to buy a tailored hazmat suit for when the end comes.

Pipeline is a resource management game crossed with a puzzle game and, as an out-and-out environmentalist, I hate that I like it so much.

The components are really cool, and I like the mix of deep strategy and puzzle elements within the gameplay. Who knew toxins could be so classy?

Pipeline was originally funded on Kickstarter within one hour of going live. More recently, Capstone Games were demonstrating Pipeline at PAX Unplugged. The Kickstarter version should be shipping in May 2019, and late backers can pre-order the game here.

The world is predicted to end by 2040: What game do you want to be playing when you succumb to the fumes?

"You are an up-and-coming oil tycoon, seeking to build a much more efficient pipeline than your competitors!"
